For the longest time, I used a pair of Nike gloves that I picked up at Sportchek ages ago and wore them completely down over the years. However, when I started hitting up every sporting goods store I could, I couldn't find any straightforward gloves anywhere. They were all too poofy or too small or way too warm, etc. It's like the market put its head firmly up its own rear since the last time I had to buy gloves. These here, however, fit the bill exactly. No fancy dumb useless features to appeal to whoever. This is simply pure function and utility and that's all I need. Nobody's looking at your hands at the gym and thinking "Wow, what wonderful gloves. Perhaps I shall bed them." I don't need gloves with battery packs, cup holders, twin bucket seats, an avocado for some reason, and a neon stripe to tell the kids I'm hip to their culture; just open fingers, pads on the inside and a simple velcro strap. Anything else is unnecessary. The only downside to these gloves are that the pinkies are a bit long (just past the knuckle) and since they come a little stiff, my fingers were aching until I properly broke them in. If you use them regularly, the stiffness doesn't last too long, but for those first handful of workouts, the gloves really dug into my pinkies. Other than that, I like the simplicity of these gloves and will probably stick with them in the future until they stop making them or decide that they need to jump onto the cup holder gravy train.
